Arctic

The term “Arctic” refers to the polar region located at the northernmost part of Earth. It encompasses the Arctic Ocean and surrounding land masses, including parts of Canada, Russia, Greenland, Norway, the United States (Alaska), and other countries. The Arctic is characterized by extreme cold, ice-covered waters, and unique ecosystems adapted to harsh conditions. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including polar bears, seals, and various seabirds, as well as indigenous human populations with distinct cultures and traditions. The region is also significant for its natural resources and is impacted by climate change, leading to concerns about ice melting and shifting ecosystems. The Arctic is often contrasted with the Antarctic, which is located in the southern hemisphere.
